The Celtics closed out the first quarter of Monday's NBA Finals Game 5 on a 9-0 run and took a 67-46 lead over the Dallas Mavericks into halftime. The Celtics improve to 47-12 on the season, while the Mavericks fall to 34-26.
The Mavericks scored three straight dunks and layups with Horford waiting to rejoin the Celtics lineup, after which Mazzulla called a timeout to stop the run. The Celtics are back on top, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 at TD Garden Arena.
